MBA Residential Week

MBA class - Development Seminar
Home » MBA Residential Week

The second MasterClass week of the Monaco MBA program began on January 15th.

From Crisis Management to Innovation

Although the theme was Career Development and Networking, the week began with interesting classes such as “Crisis Management” with Mr. Athanasios Kourniotis, “Corporate Financial Management” with Dr. Guido Mantovani, “Digital Innovation and Transformation” with Dr. Gadzinski, “Industry & Competitive Analysis with Dr. Elena Tavella, and “Entrepreneurship and Business Planning” with Dr. Markus Schuller.

Development Seminar

The second part of the week took on a different tone, as it was dedicated to networking techniques and cracking the job market.

On Wednesday, they participated in the “Interview Techniques: A to Z” workshop with Dr. Caroline Frisenberg, MBA Career Coach.

Then, Mr. Luca Signoretti, Executive Leadership Trainer & Coach, gave our students some strategic networking techniques to make the most of the networking events organized by IUM and in Monaco. Building connections with the right people at the right time could be the key to taking careers to the next level.

Then, the next day, the afternoon was divided into two parts:

  • MBA students started with a panel interview with the external Executives Dr. Caroline Frisenberg has invited: Julie Sharoni Hammer, Nina Kalmund, Diana, and Markus Unterberger. They could apply what they have learned on Wednesday during the “Interview Techniques” workshop.
  • Then, they participated in a Lion’s Lair competition, a business plan competition where students pitched their business ideas to a panel of potential investors: an exercise focused on how to position, explain, and sell themselves.

I was truly impressed by the diverse group of students at the university from all corners of the globe. Their unique perspectives and experiences made the discussions even more enriching.

Mentorship Program 2024

Notwithstanding the success of the daily activities and seminars, perhaps the week’s highlight was the Annual Mentorship Networking Cocktail held at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel.

Current MBA students mingled with MBA alumni and business professionals and met their mentors.

As I want to switch careers from IT to Luxury Hospitality, I think my mentor will give me good career advice to transition from one field to another.

The Mentorship Program is an integral element of the Monaco MBA. It encourages and fosters professional relationships and networking between our MBAs and the Monegasque– and even European– business communities.

“Take pride in your work and accomplishments! Dedication and diligence are key to achieving success.”
This is a valuable piece of advice that my own MBA mentor gave me, and I am passing it on to other MBA candidates.
