Three new business concepts for ocean preservation were awarded!
On June 19, at the Grand Finale held at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, the 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 of the Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge (MOPC) competition were 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗛.𝗦.𝗛. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗜 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗼, a passionate advocate for marine conservation who is actively working to raise awareness among world leaders about the importance of protecting our oceans.
This international competition is designed to empower students and young entrepreneurs. It provides tangible 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 within a short- to mid-term timeframe.
IUM and its partners, the Institut océanographique, Fondation Albert Ier, Prince de Monaco, the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, and Monaco Impact, congratulated the winners selected by a local and international jury among 𝟰𝟬 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮𝟰 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 representing 25 nationalities.
𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆:
• NEMA (University of the Côte d’Azur): An innovative supplier of blue energy that transforms marine mechanical energy (waves and currents) into a sustainable and reliable system producing electricity.
𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆:
• INNOV&SEA (Company registered in France): An innovative and eco-responsible in vitro ecotoxicity test to help formulate products that are more respectful of the marine environment, founded within the Cancer and Aging Research Institute of Nice (IRCAN).
𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 “𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗲𝘂𝗿” 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆:
• AQUA (IUM): Harness cutting-edge drone technology and artificial intelligence to clean the oceans, thus guaranteeing a more sustainable future.
