Meet with Nicholas Williamson, American, passionate about the luxury automotive and watch industry!
How did you come about the idea of studying abroad?
I initially did two years of university in the United States. I wanted to pursue a business degree, but I became more interested in the luxury industry. I heard about IUM from a relative and looked into it. It offered programs that matched up perfectly with what I wanted to study, and Monaco seemed like the ideal place to learn about the luxury industry. Additionally, the idea of living abroad and gaining international experience seemed like an excellent opportunity to grow and acquire skills that will be immensely valuable in my future career.
What is your background?
I’m 22 years old and am originally from northern California. My father is American, and my mother is French. I obtained a Business Degree for Transfer in the US before coming to IUM to get a Bachelor. Then I enrolled in the MSc in Luxury Management program.
Why did you choose to study luxury?
I have always had an interest in luxury, particularly in the automotive and watch industries. There are many luxury brands in these industries with lots of heritage and allure. I would love to learn about and work in an industry where my colleagues and customers share my passion.
Why is IUM the best choice for you?
IUM was the best choice for me because it offered the opportunity to work in an international environment, situated in one of the most iconic places in the world. The chance to have “Monaco as a campus” is fantastic. As I am studying luxury, going to a place full of luxury brands and events is ideal.
What is your dream career goal?
My dream career goal is to work in a marketing-related managerial position at a luxury watch or automotive brand.
