IUM MSc in International Management Students Explore Business Innovation in London
Between March 31st and April 4th, students from the MSc in International Management at the International University of Monaco embarked on an enriching field trip to London. Over the course of a dynamic week, the students engaged in immersive workshops focused on leadership and innovation. Students participated in high-level discussions, connected with industry professionals, and gained valuable insights into the inner workings of different business departments. The hands-on experience helped them understand how theory translates into practice in the real world. The field trip also included a visit to IUM partner University, Omnes Education campus London, where students attended a workshop on leadership.
Key Highlights
The trip started with a workshop on leadership and cultural intelligence, delivered by Mati Kaim Dean, an executive coach and leadership trainer at Omnes Education campus London.
On Day 2 students visited the Google AI Creative Lab, where they enjoyed breakfast provided by Google and discussed the development and impact of AI. The next stop was Diageo, where students toured the office and engaged in discussions. The day concluded with a visit to Amazon Web Services, where students learned how Amazon customize its business design around customer experience.
On Day 3 students explored Halcyon Art Gallery on New Bond Street—one of London’s oldest galleries, where they discussed both historical and contemporary art, as well as investments in the art world. At Lloyd’s of London, students gained insight into the history and structure of the insurance market, learning from an institution with over 500 years of heritage. The day ended with a session at Deloitte, where discussions centered around consulting services and career opportunities in the professional services sector.
On Day 4 the day began with a visit to Octagon, a sports, entertainment, and culture agency. Students learned about sports marketing and the importance of a personalized approach to branding and communication. This was followed by a meeting at Labelium, a digital marketing and performance agency. Discussions revolved around social media, digital marketing strategies, and the modern media landscape.
On the final day, students visited the renowned Bicester Village, a luxury outlet shopping destination known for its innovative approach to retail. Students explored how Bicester Village transformed from a real estate venture into one of the world’s most inventive retail destinations. The visit included a walking tour and a session with the Strategy and Development Director, focusing on retail experience and customer strategy.
