Members of the MBA Full-Time cohort and Part-Time MBA students attended this exceptional week either residentially or online.
The second MBA Master Class Week began on January 18th, with an overview of the week, and the weeks, ahead!
A special presentation from the General Director of Monaco Tech, the Monegasque start-up incubator, and accelerator with whom IUM has a partnership, was the first of several guest speakers on diverse and topical issues that are characteristic of all the MBA Master Class weeks!
In addition to the introductory sessions of several courses that will unfold this term, the week– whose theme was “Networking and Career Building”– also included a two-day Career Seminar led by Mrs. Caroline Frisenberg, the Monaco MBA Career Coach. This week’s focus was on international corporate recruiting processes and criteria, complemented by a series of panel interviews with senior global HR and executive recruitment specialists.
Even lunch breaks were energized by guest speakers who addressed both current as well as enduring business issues.
Denis Jacquet, founder of the Day One Movement, spoke about the present and future issues related to “Transforming Business Models in the Digital Era: What have been the Concrete Impacts of COVID on Business?”.
For his part, Olivier Guillet, Vice Dean of Sciences Po in Paris, addressed the eternal question of what makes a “leader” as opposed to a “manager”; how this has been represented in art and philosophy since time immemorial; and what today’s MBA students can learn, and apply, from this ongoing discussion.
The next Master Class week, scheduled for May and built around the themes of “Entrepreneurial Business Plan Competitions and Models,” promises to be just as exciting.
