We are thrilled to announce that our team from IUM has emerged victorious at the prestigious International Olympic Case Study Competition (CSC), organized by the IOC Olympic Studies Centre.
In this highly competitive event, students take on the role of consulting agencies for Olympic Movement organizations, addressing real-world strategic management challenges in international sports. This year, our students tackled the topic: “Growing an Olympic Sport Towards New Participants and Audiences” for the World Aquatics Federation. Despite it being our first time participating, our talented students delivered an outstanding performance, securing a well-deserved victory in the final round on March 19, 2025.
International Olympic Case Study Competition
IUM was represented by five teams in the competition, which took place between December 2, 2024, and February 14, 2025. After an intense series of rounds, our finalists showcased their in-depth research and innovative strategies in a compelling presentation, ultimately securing the top spot. This international competition, jointly organized by the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage (International Olympic Committee – IOC Studies Centre) and Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, brings together undergraduate and graduate students from around the world. Teams first compete internally at their universities before advancing to the global stage, where they present case studies based on publicly available data, simulating real-world consulting for Olympic Movement organizations.
